Solar Generation & Net Meters

Solar net & generation meters are devices used to monitor & measure amount of electricity generated by a solar panel system. A solar net meter is installed by the utility company & measures the amount of energy generated by the solar panels that is fed back into the grid. It allows homeowners with solar panels to sell excess energy back to the utility company & receive credits on their bill.

A generation meter, on the other hand, is a device that measures the total amount of electricity generated by the solar panels. It is usually installed by the solar panel installer & is used to track the system's performance over time, as well as for maintenance & warranty purposes.

Both meters are important components of a solar panel system, as they provide crucial data for monitoring the system's performance & determining the financial benefits of generating solar power.
